Partner with Te Whai

Mangawhai has long been known as a beautiful place to retire or enjoy a holiday, but that’s changing. A boom in young families moving to the area, along with a growing permanent population, means Mangawhai is now one of the fastest growing towns in New Zealand.

The primary school enrolment at Mangawhai Beach School paints a picture of the impact of this growth. In the past decade, the school’s roll has skyrocketed from 250 students to over 700 students, with more than 100 students requiring additional support due to disabilities or medical conditions.

As Mangawhai’s population continues to grow, so too does the need for comprehensive social services that provide a safety net for more vulnerable members of our community. In the 2024/25 financial year we received a 53% increase in referrals for support services compared with the previous year.

We are grateful to our valued partners and supporters who have contributed to Te Whai and our far-reaching and impactful services.

Between April 2020 - March 2025 we provided:

  • 2,170+ food baskets and gifted items

  • 3,200+ social services provided

  • 1,200+ wellbeing programme sessions

  • 6,000+ companionship sessions for families and older people

But our work doesn’t stop there. We want to create opportunities for people living in Mangawhai to build better futures and a stronger, more compassionate community where everyone can thrive. To do this, we are currently seeking funding partners who are committed to making a long-term difference.
